Corrections, questions about visiting the missions, or anything on this site you think is wrong: email [email protected]. This is written by one person between working days, so give me a day or two.
Three things I cannot do for you
I cannot change or cancel a booking. I am an independent writer, not a tour operator and not a travel agency. Tours booked through the links here are booked with GetYourGuide, and your confirmation email has their details on it. The terms that apply are the ones shown on the product you booked, so read that rather than anything I could tell you.
I cannot tell you whether a church will be open on your date. Nobody outside the parish can. All four churches inside the park are active Catholic parishes, the Park Service says plainly that church hours vary because of it, and a wedding or a funeral closes one at short notice. The published parish numbers are Mission Concepción (210) 533-8955, Mission San José (210) 922-0543, Mission San Juan (210) 534-3161 and Mission Espada (210) 627-2064, and calling one of them beats emailing me. The page on the working churches has the rest.
I cannot tell you how often the 42 runs. VIA’s own route page and its own timetable disagree with each other, and a service change including route 42 takes effect on 24 August 2026. Buses run through the day; VIA is the place to check the rest, and getting there explains what the bus does and does not reach.
What I do want in my inbox
Corrections first. A fare that has changed, a programme that no longer runs at the time this site prints, a rating on a tour that no longer matches the page, a phone number that has moved. The Park Service pages behind the fees, the hours and the church information all still read as last updated on 5 May 2025, so if you have stood somewhere recently and found this site out of date, you know something I do not.
After that, what confused you. If a page left you unsure whether something was free, or whether a figure applied to the national park or to the Alamo, that is my failure rather than yours and I will rewrite it. The two are different sites with different owners, and conflating them is the most common mistake in this subject.
What I cannot help with is booking on your behalf, arranging a private guide, or any message that begins with an operator asking to be featured. Nobody pays to appear here, and the affiliate disclosure explains exactly what that means.
Where I am
This site is written from San Antonio, Texas. If you want to see where everything sits in relation to everything else: San Antonio on Google Maps. The four park missions run north to south along the river, about two to three miles apart, with Mission Concepción the nearest to downtown at about three miles. How far apart they are has the distances, and what order to visit them in has the argument about which end to start.
Before you email about a particular tour: all five are compared on the tours page, and every rating is printed with its sample size on the reviews hub.
